ACOLYTES
We give our students who are second grade or older an opportunity to serve in worship. An Acolyte carries in the "light of God" and lights the candles on the altar table in the sanctuary. They also help with communion and with baptisms. Training is two hours and required before they can serve.
When the acolyte brings in the flame, they are bringing in the hope of Christ and as they leave with the flame they are taking Christ's light into the world. Acolytes participate in both of our traditional services, 8:15 AM and 11:00 AM and at other special times of year (i.e. Easter and Christmas).
