RESTORATIVE JUSTICE MINISTRIES

SHARING THE BLESSINGS

In October 2011, Kairos #48 at Darrington Unit was planned, here are some things that happened.

OUR GOAL

Our goal is to be an instrument, available for helping anyone seeking healing and restoration from the adverse effects of crime in their lives.

By coordinating with other groups and individuals with established ministries and some in their early stages of development, all of which recognize Jesus Christ as the ultimate healer, we have a much greater chance of successfully guiding people to a resource that fits their individual needs in cases where our volunteer base does not have a certain capability. KAIROS AND KAIROS OUTSIDE

Many of our volunteers are involved with Kairos Prison Ministry International and serve at the Darrington Unit in Rosharon, Texas, as well as the Ramsey I Unit which is also in Rosharon, Texas. A full Kairos three-day Weekend is only being done at the Darrington Unit at the present time. Team formation happens twice a year and usually starts in January for the April three-day Weekend and in July for the October three-day Weekend. The team (approx. 50 people) is ecumenical in nature with both men and woman serving our Lord in various capacities. Only men are allowed to serve in the Darrington Unit, so there is an "Inside Team" of men chosen and an "Outside Team" of mixed gender chosen.

KAIROS COOKIE BAKING

Fall 2012 Cookie Baking Schedule coming soon!

8:30 AM - 12:30 PM in the Ministry Activity Center.Contact Debbi Blough

Cookie baking for Kairos is a way those in the free world can minister twice yearly to the incarcerated in TDC Darrington Unit while remaining outside the prison. The cookie bakers at CUMC like to think of the cookies we bake as the ‘bait' we send with our "fishermen" into Darrington prison to draw men to the Kairos weekend event to experience the love of Christ.
