LOCAL UPDATE
We are excited to announce that Rev. Harold Knolls had a meeting with the principal at Adam Elementary to let them know that we will be helping them with the completion of their running track.
Debbie May, Principal, was in tears when he said that we would be presenting them with a check for $8,000. The track project has been going on for 8 years at Adam!
Check presentation and ground breaking ceremony dates will be determined soon.
Praise God for the generosity of everyone at the Christmas Eve offering!
CHRISTMAS EVE 2011 LETTER
A few weeks ago we received a call about a family who was in need of coats and clothing for several children. The Cypress UMC staff pooled some money together and bought the items to give to this family. I stand in awe of the extravagant generosity of the staff.
Your staff is a representation of your extravagant generosity as well. You have given backpacks to homeless military, care packages to a women's shelter, candy to children in Mexico, and toys and baking goods to our neighbors here through Three Wishes.
While 2011 has been a year where we have tightened our belts due to lack of resources, we have continued to change lives on behalf of Jesus Christ. As the year comes to a close, our tithes and offerings have met the current needs of 2011 ministry.
This year for the Christmas Eve offering, we will GIVE IT ALL AWAY! Our Christmas Eve Offering will go to support ministry globally and locally.
Locally - Our mission field with the adoption of Adam Elementary.
Globally - Our mission field with the United Methodist School System of Cote d'Ivoire
For our local mission, it is our hope to provide the resources for the completion of a running track at Adam Elementary as well as, offer other financial support. We will continue to build relationships at Adam with the students, families, teachers and staff.
In Cote d'Ivoire, our global mission, it takes $600 to educate one student for a year. We want to support 25 students. We will also use some of the resources to send a minimum of two people (from Cypress UMC) to the United Methodist School System of Cote d'Ivoire in 2012.
As you make plans to join us for Christmas Eve, please pray about your response to GIVE IT ALL AWAY! Let's join together and make a difference in the world.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Jerome Brimmage
